Closed Class Action

The European Truck Cartel in the EEA/EU Area

About the Case

In July 2016, the European Commission determined that truck manufacturers MAN, Volvo / Renault, Daimler, Iveco, and DAF had violated EU cartel regulations. Over 250 Austrian companies, with nearly 5,000 vehicles, have joined AdvoFin’s collective action.

Participation in the “Truck Cartel” collective action is no longer possible, as the registration deadline for general registration expired on March 31, 2020. Injured parties who have joined our collective action can inform themselves in the news blog about past activities and the current status of the proceedings. Furthermore, our contract clients receive regular updates on the status of the case.

For over 14 years (from 1997 to 2011), the gross price lists for trucks were colluded upon between truck manufacturers. AdvoFin launched a collective action in spring 2019 to ensure that damages are compensated to the injured parties.

All injured parties are entitled to a claim for damages based on the cartel agreements if, as a customer, they have either purchased, leased, or rented medium-heavy (6 to 16 tons) or heavy (over 16 tons) trucks between 2005 and 2011.

Based on an optimal litigation strategy, AdvoFin ensures the highly professional and promising pursuit of the claim.

The appointed German law firm is among the absolute top addresses in the field of cartel damages law.
